The Program for the Study of Economic Change and Sustainability in Mexican Agriculture (PRECESAM) is a special research program that is a part of the Center of Economic Studies at El Colegio de México. Its fundamental objective is to carry out studies of the Mexican rural sector and contribute towards understanding the effects of economic changes currently underway on rural economic livelihoods and the environment.

PRECESAM was founded in 1999 by Antonio Yunez Naude and Edward Taylor, with the aim of conducting binational studies and research involving the collaboration of researchers from El Colegio de México and the University of California in Davis. It has since expanded to include a network of regional universities throughout Mexico.
